The current research focus for NCERCC are the formats for monitoring and evaluation by providers – Regulation 45 and 44. The aim is for a suite of documents that can act as a good practice reference point for providers and practitioners.
Some years ago, NCERCC with Sika Smith produced a good practice regulation 44 document with guidance and a template for ICHA. This is available through ICHA. In the near future NCERCC is looking to review and evaluate Regulation 44 work.
NCERCC have completed the evaluation of the formats for Regulation 45 and have produced a report and recommended template. Two further practice documents associated with this work are nearing completion: ‘Reflective practice for Registered Managers’, and ‘Every Registered Manager an action researcher’. These are key activities for Regulation 45 work
The current focus for NCERCC is to producing a format for Responsible Individuals.
Another project is the development of a residential child care specific Social Return On Investment tool that is directly related the outcomes of the children.
In collaboration with Revolution Consulting NCERCC has published the 3-yearly analysis, Price trends and costs of children’s homes, an analysis of fees paid by local authorities for children’s homes placements.
