Open meeting to discuss closure of internationally important Therapeutic Child Care Archives and Special Collections

The Planned Environment Therapy Archives and Special Collections is to be closed as of 31st May 2026 unless there can be a solution found for its continuation.
The PETT Archives and Special Collections is a national treasure and international treasure chest.
The archive is extensive in content and storage area. It holds 587 collections, some extensive, some a single box but none the less valuable, and includes important resources of potential use today eg Includes imp archive for today eg Reading course). There are over 100 stakeholders.
The Mulberry Bush trustees have reviewed the charity’s financial arrangements and concluded the ongoing costs of maintaining and running the site and its services have become unsustainable.
The archive collection has been carefully preserved. The aim is for “as many collections as possible remain available to provide learning for those interested in therapeutic communities and planned environment therapy”.
An online open meeting has been arranged for 11am – 1pm on March 17th 2026
This is an opportunity to explore and process thoughts and feelings.
